The changes we are making as a family are fundamentally to support our health and reduce our impact on the planet, reduce our carbon footprint, be more sustainable and environmentally friendly. How ever you wish to label it, it has the same impact for us.
Our goals are to reduce the toxic chemicals we are exposed to, our use of fossil fuels (oil, plastics etc..), reuse/recycle/reduce and to be as self sufficient as possible.
This isn't to say we don't have a car and never buy new, but when we do it's only once we have covered all other possibilities.
The amount of health and environment damaging chemicals present in most household products is just plain scary.
It's very easy to think that it wouldn't be sold if it was that bad for us, but a little bit of research can prove otherwise. After all they used to think smoking was good for the lungs!!!!
